Parcells Signs Four-Year Contract With Dolphins

Oct 31, 2014 2:15 PM

Bill Parcells signed a four-year contract with the Miami Dolphins to become the team's executive vice president of football operations, according to a Dolphins source. Parcells faxed the contract to the team. The Dolphins are expected to make a formal announcement Thursday afternoon. Parcells will finish his duties as an ESPN analyst this week, appearing on ESPN Radio Primetime Friday at 7 p.m. ET. Bills' Parrish Gets Five-Year Extension

Oct 22, 2014 4:01 PM

The Buffalo Bills signed receiver Roscoe Parrish to a contract extension late Friday. The length of the extension was not immediately disclosed. Parrish was about to enter the final year of a four-year deal he signed after the club drafted him in the second round of the 2005 draft. He was set to make a base salary of $520,000 in 2008. The diminutive receiver, who has a league-leading 17.5-yard punt return average, has emerged as one of Buffalo's top offensive threats. Parrish has recorded a touchdown in three different categories this season ? rushing, receiving and punt return. Parrish has already broken the team record for punt return yards in a season with 386. His 936 career punt return yards rank second in franchise history; he needs 110 yards to move into first place.

LSU Extends Miles' Contract Through '12

Nov 2, 2014 5:02 PM

LSU Coach Les Miles has signed a contract extension that will keep him with the Tigers through 2012. The deal was approved Thursday by the LSU board's athletic committee, apparently ending any chance of Miles leaving for Michigan to replace Lloyd Carr, who retired last month. The approval of the full board is needed, but that is considered a formality when the board meets Friday. The contract doesn't change Miles' salary, which will already rise to at least $2.8 million annually based on LSU's Southeastern Conference championship this year. If LSU wins the national championship, the contract provides Miles would become among the nation's top-earning college football coaches. University officials estimate that would put his annual earnings somewhere between $3.2 million and $3.5 million. LSU (11-2) faces Ohio State (11-1) in the Allstate BCS Championship Game on Jan. 7 at the Louisiana Superdome.

Auburn, Tuberville Agree On Two-Year Extension

Feb 11, 2014 5:56 AM

Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville agreed to a two-year contract extension Tuesday that includes a $200,000 annual raise and ends speculation that he might leave for another job. The extension of the contract makes it a six-year agreement, worth an average of 3.3 million annually through 2013. "We're very pleased with the success, hard work and efforts of Coach Tuberville and his staff," Auburn Athletic Director Jay Jacobs said in a statement released by the school. "Tommy and I worked patiently though this process and did what was best for Auburn. He has not only achieved success with a winning program, but has student-athletes that graduate and represent Auburn in the finest manner." Tuberville, who was in New York for National Football Hall of Fame functions, told The Birmingham News and The Huntsville Times that he and AD Jay Jacobs reached an agreement that will run through the 2013 season. They completed the deal Tuesday afternoon in a meeting at his hotel.
